Mapleton Canal Parkway Trail

As part of the Mapleton City Trails Plan, the project purpose was to provide a safe non-motorized route through the southern portion of Utah County. The construction included 6.15 miles of a new multi-use, 10 ft to 14 ft asphalt trail, mainly along the piped Mapleton Lateral Canal corridor from Hobble Creek Canyon Trail in Springville to SR-6 at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon. Features included three trailheads, a 104-ft span prefabricated steel truss pedestrian bridge over Hobble Creek and a 160-ft timber boardwalk over wetlands.

Services: engineering design, environmental, right-of-way, permits, public involvement, utility protection, relocation, geotechnical; trail design, drainage; SWPPP design, coordination with irrigation and utility companies, hydraulics, structural designs, prep of complete PS&E, construction engineering, partnering with contractor, inspection and testing, documentation, review of traffic control, documentation per federal record-keeping requirements, material certifications, EEO compliance docs, and project closeout in accordance with UDOT requirements
