Grassy Trail Reservoir

RB&G provided initial geologic studies and geotechnical analyses to evaluate potential impacts of mining-induced seismicity originating in West Ridge Mine on the Grassy Trail Dam and Reservoir in Carbon County. The effort included regular monitoring of vibrations using seismographs placed on the dam and on the hillside above the reservoir, as well as frequent monitoring of piezometers, observation wells, drains, and inclinometers on the dam and reservoir rim. RB&G provided the client with monitoring and analysis services on an intermittent basis (depending on proximity of mining to the reservoir) for 13 years.
