Jordan and Salt Lake Canal Box Culvert

The section of the project, designed by RB&G Engineering, was part of the Jordan River Parkway Trail, 14600 South to 15000 South. RB&G’s work as a subconsultant to EPG included hydraulic analysis of the canal flows, structural design, construction drawings and construction observation. The project involved the piping of the Salt Lake and Jordan Canal for a distance of 600 feet near 15000 South in order to accommodate construction of a portion of the Jordan River Parkway Trail, and included the installation of a 14-feet wide by 6-feet high concrete box culvert.

Services: coordination, sizing of culvert to prevent any rise in the canal water surface, HEC-RAS hydraulic analysis of canal, structural design, construction drawings and specifications, and construction observation.
